Time&Space® - Views and Scheduling

With Time&Space® you can schedule and manage literally any type of resource, from people to rooms, pieces of equipment, vehicles, simulators, training courses etc.

Resource Views
It is simple and easy for schedulers to view resources commitments and availability.

Users can create as many views as are needed to show the different groups of resources they manage, at different levels of detail over varying ranges of dates.

With the flexibility to create exactly the views they need, they can quickly navigate to a date / resource / skill combination, view availability, then double click to make bookings.

Other Views

Views can be created for resources, resource groups, customers and projects (as shown to the right).

Project & customer views show each resource's bookings, which you can color code for instant recognition of what they are doing. In the view, white space designates available time, whereas shaded days show that the resource is allocated elsewhere.

Users simply double click in a free cell to make a booking.

Managing resources - groups, skills etc.
As organizations grow, managing the volume of resources becomes more and more important. Even if you have hundreds or thousands of resources, you can organize resources into sensible, manageable groups, then use the groups to view resources, search for

availability, even use group to control security rights to limit which Resources users can see.

Groups can be a simple list of resources such as a group of people with a specific skill or skill levels, geographical locations, literally any grouping that helps you manage your resources.

You can even create complex arrangements of hierarchical groups, for example if you have multiple levels within a skill, you can arrange your groups so that you click on the skill to show the levels within that skill. You can even 'intersect' groups to help locate resources in one group that are also in another: for example search for someone with skill A in region Y that is available on a specific date.

Managing scheduling conflicts
Conflicts are a major source of issues for many organizations. Most systems including

MS-Outlook, ignore the issue of controlling conflicts and simply allow them to occur, yet in the real world it is not that simple. In some cases conflicts need to be allowed and are even desired, yet in other cases, especially with customers, they should not.

For example many organizations have provisional

bookings where it is desirable to allow conflicting bookings in the same calendar space, but require them to be "bumped" when one of the bookings becomes confirmed.

Time&Space® fully embraces conflict management by allowing you to define which types of bookings do and do not allow conflicts. The system proactively polices conflict policies to ensure users cannot make disallowed conflicts, and if allowable conflicts exist, helps them resolve these conflicts where appropriate.
